John Michael Michin, Sr. Obituary
John Michael Michin, Sr., went peacefully to join his wife, Lois Michin, in heaven on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the age of 86.
John was born in Newark, New Jersey to the late Anna Karamatich. John joined the Yonkers Fire Department and served for 30 years and rose to the rank of Lieutenant before he retired. He proudly served his country and was a veteran of the United States Army and was involved with the Boy Scouts of America serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 47 in Yonkers, for many years.
He was a dedicated, loving husband and father. He is survived by his loving son, John Michael Michin, Jr. and his wife, Pam; his loving daughter, Susan Kenny; devoted grandchildren, Stephanie, Rachel, Amanda and Michael; adoring great grandchildren, Gianna, Luke and Weston.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Graham Funeral Home & Crematory, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m.
A Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024 at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Services- 732 Yonkers Avenue- Yonkers, New York 10704 - (914) 375-1400 - www.frswfh.com. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 602 McLean Avenue, Yonkers, New York 10705. He will then be laid to rest with Military Honors alongside Lois at Gates of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, New York 10532.
