May 28, 2021 GHV Update
The New York Department of Health has made changes to the requirements for overnight and summer camp usage. The Council Key-3 and Management Team will implement the following rules as of today:
Summer Camp (Read & Bullowa) & Council Sponsored Activities with Youth:
- To enter camp, (youth or adult) you must
- Be Fully Vaccinated (or)
- Be able to document from a laboratory confirmed COVID-19 in the previous 3 months (or)
- Test Negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of arriving at camp
- You will be required to wear a mask when indoors (Bandanas, gaiters, face shields and the like things are NOT acceptable face coverings)
- The maximum group size for campers (youth) is 36 – this is a Cohort. No Cohorts are to mix. Cohorts are to stay 6 feet from each other.
- Tenting: everyone will be required to sleep head to toe in any tent. If you are attending Read this summer and want to sleep alone, we suggest a camping hammock. Due to rocks and forest, flat tenting spots are not plentiful in our campsites. We will provide our canvas tents with 2 cots and mattresses.
- All youth will be temperature checked twice a day – morning and evening. If you show a temperature of 100.4+, you will have to leave the camp.
- If someone in your Cohort test positive for COVID-19, your entire Cohort will have to leave camp.
Weekend Camping- Family or Unit Cohorts (Bullowa, Durland, Nooteeming & Read):
- Upon entry to the camp, each Unit will be required to provide a Roster of all Participants (youth & adult) with a phone number
