The Westchester-Putnam Council has been in communication with the Department of Health. We strongly suggest that all our Units and Families keep to the DOH recommendations about how to keep yourself protected.
Due to concerns regarding the recent public health crisis the Westchester-Putnam Council has made the decision to cancel the University of Scouting and PDL scheduled for this Saturday, March 14. Also, the Westchester-Putnam Council has made the decision to close Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation and Durland Scout Reservation for the remainder of March. Those that paid event registrations and cabin rentals will receive a full refund. We will begin to process these refunds this week and will be completed within 30 days.
We recommend that you keep updated on CDC guidelines regarding keeping yourself and your family healthy. We recommend all units consult with their chartered organization as far as upcoming unit activities and meeting. The Council Service Center will be cancelling all evening meetings at our building for the month of March.
